Super Bowl 51

If you are like most people, you will be wanting to watch Super Bowl 51 this Sunday. There are a few ways that you can do this without a cable subscription and we wanted to show you some ways to stream the Super Bowl this year. HD Antenna If you have one of our Amplified HD Antennas installed you can simply turn the channel to your local Fox station. This is by far the easiest way that you can watch Super Bowl 51 for free in HD. If you do not have one of our Local HD Antennas you can click the link below to order one. Amplified Local HD Antenna Fox Sports Go App Last year Super Bowl 50 was shown by CBS. They opened up their app so that everyone could stream the Super Bowl for free. CBS did encounter some server errors in the beginning of the game that led to most people not being able to view it and experience buffering. This was quickly fixed and was one of the largest streamed events of all time. This year Fox will be airing Super Bowl 51 and have chosen to do the same thing with their Fox Sports Go app (Please note that the Fox Sports Go app normally requires that you use your cable provider login to view any streams on the app and that they are only opening up the app to everyone for the Super Bowl). We hope that FOX has learned from the few small hiccups that CBS had and have prepared their servers to get slammed with traffic during the SuperBowl. So here is a quick tutorial on how to install the Fox Sports Go app. This will ONLY work using Wi-Fi, Please switch to Wi-Fi if you are on Ethernet or this will not work!!! Click on the Google Play Store App. If you have not already signed into Google Play you will need to login using your Gmail account information. If you do not have a Gmail account or Google Account you will be brought to a screen where you can create one.   Type “Fox Sports Go” into the search bar at the top of the Google Play Store. Click on the Fox Sports Go icon or click search and then click on the app.   Click on Install and then click on Accept when you see a pop up appear.   Once the App is done installing, click on Open.   You will now see a pop up telling you that location services need to be turned on. Click on Location Settings.   Make sure that Location is selected (Not Settings) and click on Just Once.   Use your Airmouse to click on the On / Off slider at the top right of the screen. Or use the standard remote and click down and up to highlight the On / Off slider and click the OK button.   Once Location is turned on, click on Mode.   Select Battery Saving….

awesome

We wanted to write this article to show our deep appreciation to all of the awesome customers who have given us the privilege to help you Stream On! Since SkyStream Technologies was founded in late 2012 we have always been astounded at how loyal our customers are. It is always a pleasure to open up our email each morning and see so many complimentary messages. Emails that say “You guys are awesome, Thank you so much for the help!” or “This box is sweet, Keep up the good work!”, really make our day! Our awesome customers have written a combined 2,000 reviews on Amazon and helped keep all of our products above 4 stars! Our great customers have turned thousands of friends and family members onto SkyStream! You’ve shared our posts thousands of times and helped grow the SkyStream Family! When we started this company in late 2012 we had no idea how fast and large the company would grow. When we first started we bought 10 boxes on our credit card with no idea of how we were going to pay it off. Luckily, with help from friends and family we were able to sell those 10 boxes and order 20 more. Word quickly spread and we were now ordering 100 boxes at a time. The entire company was run out of a house. Orders were packaged and dropped off at the post office each day. Phone calls were taken on our cell phones and we answered emails on our home computers. Long story short, we were a very small company. But we decided a very long time ago that customer service was the number one priority! We’ve always believed that if you treat people well, they will treat you well in return. That belief has been proven correct every single day by each and every one of our wonderful customers! Sometimes we are just overwhelmed at how much of a family SkyStream has become. What started out as a side business has turned into a community of great people that grows each and every day. We just wanted to write this post to express how thankful we are! We are blessed with the worlds best customers! So thank you for being so awesome! Thank you for sharing our company with your friends and family! Thank you for writing such great reviews on our website and on Amazon! Thank you for helping others on our Forum and the My SkyStream Facebook page! Thank you for the kind messages you send us in our email! Thank you for sharing our Facebook posts with your friends! Thank you for everything you’ve done to help grow the SkyStream family! Without you we would not be here! We are forever indebted to you and eternally grateful! So from everyone here at Team SkyStream, THANK YOU FORM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS! As always, Stream On!

What is a VPN and do you need one?

Aug 11, 2016 8 months ago No Comments
Kodi VPN

What is a VPN and do you need one? A VPN, or Virtual Private Network, is a service or program that does a few different things to make your Internet usage more secure.  We could go into a long winded 20 page article on how exactly a VPN works, but we are not network engineers. Nor do we think that our user would be interested in all of the nuts and bolts. So we will keep it as short as possible. IPVanish VPN Service Express VPN Service When you’re on your computer at home and click on a website link, your internet connects to that website’s server. That server can see your IP address (Think of an IP Address as your computers home address.) When a server sees your IP address it keeps a record of it. Pretty much each and every website that you visit keeps track of each and every connection/IP address that connects to it. This process happens billions of times a minute all across the world. There are two negative things about how this works. The first is that your IP address/computer’s home address are out there and can be viewed by a wide range of people. These people include Hackers, Government employees (NSA, FBI, CIA), and most people with a modest knowledge of computer networks. Basically, whatever you view or websites that you visit can be tracked. This means that while you may feel secure surfing the web in your office or bedroom, basically everything that you do on your computer can be tracked and monitored. Privacy is nonexistent on the Internet. You can use Incognito Mode or Safe Browsing all that you want, but that only prevents things from being added to your browser history on your local device. The second problem with this is hackers. Hackers used to be more of a mischievous group. Hacking into things to see if they could, or for bragging rights. But today hacking is big business. It’s estimated that over 15 million people in the United States have their identities stolen each year. That is roughly 7% of the population. These staggering numbers grow each year and are poised to get even worse. While there are many various ways that hackers get credit card numbers and bank account information, one of the main ways that this happens is when people make online purchases. Most of the larger online retailers such as Amazon use HTTPS & SSL Certificates to encrypt customers sensitive data (SkyStream does both as well). Not all retailers take these security measures. If the online merchant and you are not using an encryption system or connection, the data is vulnerable to be intercepted by hackers. They basically hack into the connection between you and the merchant and intercept the data. You will never notice, the transaction will be completed just like any other. But now someone in some part of the world has your name, address, email address, and credit card information. They have everything they need…
