There are lots of questions going into the final debate before the Presidential Election next month. What kind of pant suit will Hilary wear? What kind of strange faces will Donald Trump make? Ok, so maybe there are some more pressing issues. One of the biggest questions is where can you stream the final debate? We’ve got you covered on that. The final presidential debate will take place tomorrow night at 9 PM ET/ 6 PM PT and will be moderated by Fox News’ Chris Wallace. Every major broadcaster will air the debate. So if you have an HD Antenna, you’ll be golden. But don’t worry, even if you don’t have an Antenna, there are still plenty of places to stream the debate. YouTube will be airing the debate. You can choose any major network’s YouTube channel and watch there. We’ve included a link to the PBS stream below, because we’ve got your back. If you’re watching on a mobile device, the ABC News, NBC News, and CBS News apps for Android and iOS will have the debate streaming. For those of you who may not be able to stand the sight of the two candidates, but would still like to listen, www.npr.org has you covered on that front. If you don’t want to watch, that’s cool too. We hope this helps for those of you who will be tuning in. As always, Stream On!

Google Nexus Android TV Set Top Box Vs SkyStream Android TV Box

Mar 11, 2016 3 months ago No Comments
skystream vs google chromcast and nexus player

Recently there have been many articles posted on rumors of a Google Nexus Android TV Set Top Box coming to market the 1st half of 2014. Google has always put out good products and services. Obviously one of our favorite things that Google put out was the Android Operating system which we based our SkystreamX Android TV Box around. One area that Google has not had great success in is any project based around TV and cable services. The original Google TV was definitely not up to par and was scrapped in the early part of 2013. While the concept of Google TV was an awesome idea, the execution was not there. This was a surprise as Google has had a great track record on almost all of its projects. Google Android TV The concept behind Google TV was that you could purchase a Google TV box that was based on the Android Platform. You could plug it in, use all of your favorite Android Applications and also stream TV to your home theater. So where did Google TV get its streaming content from? If you guessed Google you would be correct. Google TV was supposed to scour the internet for streams based on what you’re searched for. The problem with Google TV was there simply was not enough content on the places that Google TV searched (Mainly national channels websites.) So after slow sales and poor reviews Google Scrapped the Google TV platform and move onto their next Streaming TV venture, The Google Chromecast. Google Chromecast If you are not familiar with the Google Chromecast it is a small HDMI Dongle that plugs into an HDMI port on your home TV. The Google Chrome cast is very small and only costs $35. Seems like a good deal. But what exactly does the Google ChromeCast do? The Google Chromecast basically acts as a relay between one of your Android Phones or Tablets and your HDMI equipped home TV. While the Chromecast does a have a few other minor features, the main point of buying the Google Chromecast is to transfer video from your android based phone or tablet to your TV. So when you buy your Google Chromecast you will now be able to take any type of video or streaming video that is playing on your Android based phone or tablet and stream it directly to your TV. While this seems to be a neat idea and many people have purchased Google Chromecast HDMI Players, we feel that this is an extra step to view streaming media on your TV with many drawbacks. Here are some of the drawbacks we see in using the Google Chromecast to push streaming media to your HDMI equipped TV. The first drawback is that you will still need to pay for subscriptions to receive all of the streaming video to your android phone or tablet. The second drawback we see with the Google Chromecast is the limited content that you receive with any…

Why Internet Streaming TV is the wave of the future

Mar 11, 2016 3 months ago No Comments
skystream streaming future

The internet streaming revolution started many years ago with a now wildly website called Youtube. You may have come across this YouTube site once or twice in your internet travels. While there were previous internet video streaming websites prior to Youtube, none of them grew as fast and became as popular as Youtube. It grew so big and became so popular that internet search engine giant Google purchased Youtube for 1.65 billion dollars in 2006. Google knew that streaming videos via the internet was the wave of the future. They have been proven correct in the past 7 years. Youtube has over 1 billion unique users to its site each month. Over 6 billion hours of video are watched on the popular internet video streaming service each month and over 100 hours of video are uploaded each minute. Those are some staggering statistics and some may wonder how that is even possible. This question leads us into the main point of this article. In the past few years a few things have happened that have catapulted internet video streaming. The first factor and possibly the most important are internet speeds. In the early days of internet video streaming user and uploaders were very limited by the internet speeds that were available to them. Users were plagued by constant buffering and waiting for the video to load. This was obviously something that was a hindrance to users who were trying to watch videos on the internet. But as internet speeds started to get faster and faster viewing internet videos became much less cumbersome and annoying. With most internet providers offering download speeds of 90Mbps or faster buffering and waiting for videos to load are a thing of the past. Now that internet speeds have become so fast, viewing TV shows, watching movies and streaming live sporting events to your TV have become and enjoyable and empowering experience. What other factors have influenced the worlds shift towards streaming media via internet into their home? I think the next important reason that internet media streaming of all kinds has taken off so much is our computer speeds. With today’s computers, even mediocre machines can record media from almost any source, upload it onto the internet and other people can access it and watch TV shows, movies and live sporting events. In the early days of recording media and placing it on the internet for others to enjoy we were plagued by choppy, pixilated and in general poor quality videos. This was due to many factors like slow internet speeds, under powered video cards, and smaller hard drives. Now that none of those factors are slowing down people from recording media, the latest group of people who record media and upload them online are putting out extremely high quality video streams. Many shows and movies are uploaded in 720P HD and the end watcher cannot even tell that this was recorded on a computer and uploaded to the internet. So how are people accessing…
