When will the Skystream TWO be released?

Nov 3, 2017 11 months ago No Comments
Skystream TWO

We wanted to update all of our awesome customers on when the Skystream TWO will be available to purchase. We did a small private pre order sale for everyone that is subscribed to our email list. All of those units sold out extremely fast. However we have not made the Skystream TWO available to the public for sale. Why you ask? To be 100% transparent we ran into an issue that we did not foresee. As you may already know from our previous article (Click Here) we jumped up just about every spec of this box compared to any other TV box on the market. One of these upgrades was DDR4 RAM instead of DDR3. DDR4 RAM is the same speed and quality RAM that mobile phone manufactures like Google, Samsung, Apple, LG and HTC use in their high end phones to provide high levels of speed and responsiveness. This brings us to our little issue, getting DDR4 RAM. We have been slightly delayed because all  of the major phone manufacturers have been buying up every piece of DDR4 RAM available and there is currently a shortage. However today we were able to obtain a large quantity and should be able to open up sales to the public soon. We did not want to make any promises about delivery dates without having a solid date when we know we will get them in. We love all of our customers and did not want to overpromise and underdeliver. But we should have some solid dates sometime early next week and will open up preorders with solid delivery dates. Trust us, we really want to get the TWO in the hands of our streaming family so you can see how fast the TWO is. But we value our customers and didn’t feel right releasing a pre order without having a solid date of shipment. Thank you for being so patient and being the most important part of our family. Without you we are nothing. We guarantee that the Skystream TWO will be worth the wait and will exceed your expectations! Stream On! Soon

How To Stream The Final Presidential Debate

Oct 18, 2016 10 months ago No Comments

There are lots of questions going into the final debate before the Presidential Election next month. What kind of pant suit will Hilary wear? What kind of strange faces will Donald Trump make? Ok, so maybe there are some more pressing issues. One of the biggest questions is where can you stream the final debate? We’ve got you covered on that. The final presidential debate will take place tomorrow night at 9 PM ET/ 6 PM PT and will be moderated by Fox News’ Chris Wallace. Every major broadcaster will air the debate. So if you have an HD Antenna, you’ll be golden. But don’t worry, even if you don’t have an Antenna, there are still plenty of places to stream the debate. YouTube will be airing the debate. You can choose any major network’s YouTube channel and watch there. We’ve included a link to the PBS stream below, because we’ve got your back. If you’re watching on a mobile device, the ABC News, NBC News, and CBS News apps for Android and iOS will have the debate streaming. For those of you who may not be able to stand the sight of the two candidates, but would still like to listen, www.npr.org has you covered on that front. If you don’t want to watch, that’s cool too. We hope this helps for those of you who will be tuning in. As always, Stream On!

The Skystream ONE – Pre Release Information

Jul 20, 2016 7 months ago No Comments
Fastest Android TV Box

Skystream ONE Android TV Box As many of you know, we announced late last week that we are going to release a brand new Android TV Box in the near future. While this article is not going to release any of the specs or include any actual pictures of the Skystream ONE, it will release a few small tidbits about the box. But before we get into the Skystream ONE, we wanted to discuss some of the questions and comments that we have gotten about the release announcement. Why are you discontinuing the X5 Android TV Box? When we made the announcement that we were releasing the Skystream ONE we got a few people asking why we discontinued the X5, so we wanted to address that in this article. We decided to discontinue the X5 due to manufacturing times. We love the X5 and all that it can do. Both of our owners and all of our employees use them every day. The X5 is a great box and will be a streamers dream for years to come. The issue that we ran into was that since it was a one off completely custom box, it took over two months from when we placed the order until we received them. With a product that was in such a high demand it was an everyday battle to keep them in stock. We spent countless hours contacting all of the various component makers getting updates, contacting their sources and to be blunt, freaking out on them to get materials and parts faster. It may have seemed like we always had them in stock, because we did. But it took our owners working 65 hours plus a week coordinating custom parts to make that happen. They eventually made the decision that it was not sustainable to do for the long term. So the decision was made to begin work on a brand new box that we decided to name the Skystream ONE. Why did you name it the Skystream ONE? The name was chosen to signify solidarity, strength and to go back to our roots when the company was started in early 2013. We have always been a streaming company, it is in our blood, it is what we do and what we do best (Besides finding awesome customers like yourself.) We want to get back to our roots, saving our customers hundreds or thousands of dollars a month is what makes us smile each morning when we walk in the door. ONE represents simplicity. We designed a simple beautiful Android TV Box. We took all of the likes and dislikes about the way our boxes looked and combined all of the good into the new ONE. If you have been following our Facebook you may have noticed that we stated that the new Skystream ONE will not be black or grey in color. We felt that too many other Android TV Boxes were all black and we wanted something that would stand…

Android TV Box or Streaming Media Player?

Mar 14, 2016 3 months ago No Comments
Streaming Media Player

Android TV Box or Streaming Media Player? We have had our SkyStream box called many things. We have heard them call Android TV Boxes, Streaming Media Players, Stream boxes, Mini Computers, Sky Storm Boxes and many other variations. So what exactly is a SkyStream Box and why do we call it an Android TV Box? Many of the words used to describe streaming devices in the industry we feel are very vague. Streaming Media Player, Streaming box, Set Top box and Mini PC aren’t very descriptive and don’t really tell people who are new to streaming what they actually do. Someone who has never streamed anything besides a YouTube video will look at you puzzled when you tell them to get a Set Top Box or Streaming Media Player. That is because all of these terms are industry terms that kind of caught on, but were not very descriptive to the customer and does not tell the customer what it actually does. Here at SkyStream, we have always used the term Android TV Box for all of our streaming media players. We felt that Android TV Box told the customer that it was a box that ran on the Android operating system and connected to their TV. But recently, we have asked a few of our newer customers who were new to streaming and free streaming if they understood what Android TV box means. Many people had no idea what it meant and told us they saw our TV box at a friend’s house and bought one. Some people knew that it was a TV box, but thought we just called it Android. They did not realize that the player actually ran the Android operating system. Some people had no idea it was a streaming device. They thought that all of the content was stored on the Android Box and they just played it. So we wondered if there was anything we could add to Android TV Box to make it more apparent what it actually does without trying to create a whole new keyword combination. We came up with Android Streaming TV Box. While we can’t explain the entire product in a single keyword combination, we thought that adding the term streaming to the name would give people with less experience with these types of streaming media players a better idea that it streams content. We feel that it covers all of the bases in a short name. Android – This devices runs the Android operating system Streaming – This device streams content like you tube and other online streaming websites TV – This device connects to my TV Box – This is a small device / computer or mini PC Now that we have decided on the name Android Streaming TV Box we can move away from the generic streaming media player or streaming set top box. Now that we have gotten that all squared away we can get into what an Android Streaming TV Box actually does. We…
